These digital recordings can be used by listeners on their phones, ipads, or other device with speakers or headphones. Great for long commutes, vacation trips, hiking or just lazing on the couch. The market has exploded for these types of digital products. Why should you be left out? Authors and writers are now expected to have an audio version of their books and stories. And you can hire a professional audiobook reader like me to do the work for you!
Terms & Conditions
- You must be the copyright holder of the material to be recorded, or have permission from the copyright holder in writing to use the material for recording into an audiobook or other audio product ( book length manuscript, short story, memoir, essay or article, etc).
- I primarily narrate fiction in which the gender of the voice does not matter.
- I cannot narrate a non-fiction work whose subject I do not believe in or promotes: racism, political propaganda, hate speech, pornagraphy, illegal activity, and other disqualifying materials at my discretion.
- I do not accept future royalty as a form of payment.
- I do not promote your ebook or other recording for sale. I offer my profession reading services on a work-for-hire basis.
- I may do some light editing for word flow, or make a few suggestions during the prep process.
- I may ask for the correct pronunciation of names and places etc.
- I ask for an upfront down payment on the finished work. You will receive your completed project after all payments have been received and cleared. I offer a 5% discount for full payment made in advance. A quick turnaround has extra fee to be determined.
Pricing Fact Sheet
My prep period includes research time of pronunciation of names and places unfamiliar to me, consultation or questions with or for you, recording time (2 x the reading time aloud on mike) edit, master the project (4-6 x the recording the raw recording time) and my rate begins at 3.5 cents per word based on the project’s word count and complexity Per Finished Hour.
- 10,000 words: 10,000 x 0.035 = $350
- 20,000 words: 20,000 x 0.035 = $700
- 30,000 words: 30,000 x 0.035 = $1050
- 40,000 words: 40,000 x 0.035 = $1400
- and so on …
Price estimates are rounded UP to the nearest 5000 words. This provides a fair rate because project usually require more time than expected.
For example:
- 17,240 words = Charged for 20,000 words ($700)
- 31,000 words = Charged for 35,000 words ($1225)
- 56,000 words = Charged for 60,000 words ($2100)
You can apply the pricing schedule above to most projects
but I will review your request on a case-by-case basis.
